I’ve installed a plugin to my blog which hopefully will update my twitter account whenever I add a new blogpost (like this one). This is the first post with the plugin installed, so let’s see if it works.
It seems just like yesterday I was hanging out with my friend Larry Fair, and now…he’s gone.
Larry died in a horrific fire Thursday night. He was always smiling, always friendly, always had a nice thing to say about others. He was a pioneer in his field, and yet was always humble; Larry was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
I last hung out with Larry at the OWA party in March.

Larry had just rebranded his company Live Internet Weddings to be edgier, and he was excited about many new projects he was rolling out in the coming weeks.
I would occasionally run into Larry at his “office” on Waikiki Beach, where he would conduct business in a t-shirt, “rubbah slippahs”, and with his trusty laptop. He loved life, and he always appreciated the fact he was living in Hawaii.
Sadly, at the time of his passing, I owed him a cup of coffee. Now I’ll never get the chance to repay his kindness.
Rest in peace, Larry. You were a great mentor, colleague, and friend.
Tonight, before going to bed: hug your family, tell ‘em how much you love ‘em, and remind yourself of all of the GOOD things you have in life. Life is unpredictable and can change in an instant: in one moment, your loved ones are enjoying a good life in Hawaii, in the next, you’re writing tributes about them.
I need to put the following link to have this blog claimed by Technorati, which is like a “Google” for blogs, so that I can get more exposure here.
In yesterday’s article, I wrote about different Grand Entrance theme ideas. One of those ideas was the Star Wars/Sci-Fi Entrance.
While perusing Youtube, I came across this great video of one couple who decided to take their love of Star Wars and really personalize it to their wedding…
I would soooo LOVE to work with a couple who would be open to doing this!
March seems to be the month where everyone is celebrating a birthday. In the week, I’ve sent congratulations to at one former client, one son of a former client, and two of my favorite wedding associates. So congratulations and Happy Birthday to:
- Dianna Shitanishi with Hawaii Weddings & Events, March 14
- Matt Mitchell, a fellow DJ from Southern California, March 14
- Cecilia Domingo with The Bridal Boutique, March 19
- Shawn Sablan, former groom, March 21

- Sage Salamero, son of Don & Misty, March 21

If I miss anybody, my apologies! Just make a comment and I’ll be sure to include you in this month’s list.
I can’t help but listen to this song over and over. It is so catchy! This is Sandcastle Disco (Freemasons Remix) by Solange (Beyonce’s sister). I would soooo love to play this at a wedding.
Happy news! After spending a week in the hospital for a very nasty infection, my Mom is home. She is feeling much better and has resumed her normal activities and lifestyle. Aside from being careful when she bathes (she cannot get her intravenous catheter connector wet) and losing a few teeth (which were a big part of the cause of this ordeal), she’s back to normal.
To all who wrote, emailed, and called to wish her a speedy recovery…
Thank you.
Your sincere words of encouragement meant a lot to my mom and to the rest of our family. It is very much appreciated.

Aloha!
