• Why I Don’t Do Uplighting & Photobooths

  • At this past weekend’s Hawaii World Class Wedding Expo, a bride-to-be asked why I didn’t offer uplighting and photobooths when other DJ companies offered it.  She even mentioned that some other companies threw it in for free, along with the traditional DJ and MC service!  She was almost incredulous that I didn’t.

    The way I see it, there are two good reasons why I don’t offer extra services like uplighting and photobooths at Hawaii weddings.

    First, there are other great companies that already do a fine job providing these services.  For uplighting, I usually recommend REA Events; not only do they provide uplighting, they also provide visual design, decor, and other goods to help you create an incredible and INTEGRATED look at your celebration!  For photobooths, I usually recommend Photobox Hawaii, Flashlab, and PartyPix Hawaii.  They’re all great and provide awesome customer service to my clients.  Check them out, give them a call, tell them I sent you!

    Secondly, I’m not a jack-of-all-trades that can provide many different services of average quality.  I provide a highly specialised skill: not many people can successfully help their clients create FUN, UNIQUE, and UNFORGETTABLE wedding celebrations, and even less people can STAND IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE and make that party happen.

    I can make that party happen, ya know? 😉

    arsenacaseyFirst and foremost, I am a professional Master of Ceremonies.  If you’ve ever had to speak in front of a room of strangers, then you know how extremely difficult it can be, to speak well and be entertaining.  In order for a person to do a GREAT job at your wedding, your MC needs to be focused on it.  After all, they are representing YOU.

    If your DJ/MC is also thinking about uplights and photobooths, will they be focused on your wedding?
